We’ve all heard about those horror stories on the internet or in the tabloids, where a neurotic, prize-obsessed mother of an eight year beauty pageant queen bought a DIY Botox kit over the internet for a cheap and cheerful price, only to end up with a droopy faced kid, court fine and a knock at the door from social services. Botox is not a toy. It is a powerful poison and can lead to a nasty variety of harmful side-effects when not properly used.

The only safe way to administer Botox is to be trained by a Professional

Find the right course

Botox training courses, along with a range of other aesthetic development courses such as Dermal Fillers and Skin Peels, are now being advertised on the internet and the wonderful news is that many are completely safe, professional and legal. These courses will provide you with a mixture of theoretical and practical guidance on how to use Botox, and many will also provide you with e-learning equipment prior to arriving on the course. Most training is carried out in groups of four so you will receive plenty of careful one on one attention.

Face Lift Cosmetic Surgery

May 18th, 2010 admin Posted in cosmetic surgery Comments Off

1141475_spontaneousBefore you decide to get any type of face lift surgery, you will have to consider the risks of any operation. There are those who have allergic reactions to anesthesia that cause serious reactions for the patient. Not only can the surgery be compromised, but you run the risk of losing your life. Thankfully, mini face lift surgery was started so that many people do not have to go under such intensive forms of anesthesia. No matter which form of cosmetic surgery you plan to acquire, make sure to carefully speak with your surgeon about your specific medical history to see if your are an eligible candidate for surgery in the first place.

There are other risks to cosmetic surgery that are not life threatening, but do need your full attention. There have been reports of nerve damage occurring when surgeons cut incorrectly against the lining of the facial skin during a macs facelift. The occurrence is rare, but when it does happen, the results are most of the time irreversible. That is why you have to do your own research on every plastic surgeon that you consider using. You need to find out what his or her other patients are saying about their work. Keep in mind that when you are looking over reviews online, there is always the possibility that some doctors fake their claims of customer satisfaction success rates.

Just remember that people are never happy all of the time with anything, especially cosmetic surgery. Many find that they have to constantly go back and keep changing what they have done in order to get it right finally. This does not mean that doctors are doing shotty work, it just means that people are on a quest for ultimate beauty. Knowing how to avoid tragedy is considered wisdom.

Cosmetic Surgery – The Famous Facelift

January 14th, 2010 admin Posted in cosmetic surgery Comments Off

Senior womanMost often the concept of having a facelift is made out to be a joke. Although the rich and famous are well known for having this procedure done not only once but several times. Being as it is an elective type surgery which means it isn’t mandatory for your health most often  your health coverage will not pick up the costs. That’s why it seems to be a procedure that is for the very rich.

There are many reasons why one would want to have a facelift which of course is usually for the overall appearance. We know that many factors aside from just aging  can affect our facial features. For example smoking, outdoor exposure to the sun on a constant basis and even general health factors can have an adverse effect.

What happens is the wrinkles begin to form and the muscles become loose and the face starts to sag. What happens here with the facelift is that all of these sagging effects are lifted and tightened which gives a more youthful look.

It seems that the face lift techniques are more beneficial when it is  the lower regions of the face that are being affected such as the jowls. Quite often an individual that is undergoing this type of surgery will have other procedures done at the same time such as firming the area around the eyes and a reduction of crows feet. Many times in combination with this type of cosmetic surgery Botox injections will be used to create a fullness as well.

Face lifts are certainly not something from the  past in fact the dermatologist and surgical associations are finding that there is an increase in the demand for this type of surgery .
It must be remembered that facelift surgery does not stop the aging process but it can slow down some of its effects.  It is more so used for those that have suffered an aging effect due to the other factors that we mentioned.

The basic procedure for facelift surgery when  one is describing it sounds perhaps much more horrific than it is. To begin with it requires an incision that is quite lengthy however this is a hairline incision and is usually made along the hair line where it can be camouflaged quite easily. This is why it takes the services of a plastic surgeon to perform this type of surgery. This is his area of expertise. Most often it is stitches is that is used to close the incisions although now some surgeons are using metal clips quite successfully.

If an individual is under the impression that all the wrinkles will be gone after a facelift this is a fallacy. It will certainly go a long way in reducing them but it will not totally eliminate them.

Then there is the prospect of just how much pain is associated with this procedure.  Again it will come down to just how precise your surgeon is and what methods of pain control that he uses. Everybody  experiences discomfort and different levels.  Some individuals feel that it is well worth whatever pain they experience which in most cases is usually not a great deal, There is a fair amount of swelling but this too goes down in a short period of time
